A Gathering of Women

Something amazing is happening here in Akron,Ohio! Women are gathering in celebration of themselves,their connection to one another and to Nature! Women-born-women from different cultural backgrounds,political and sectarian beliefs gather in celebration of feminine values and the Divine Feminine Spirit, freed from the constraints of traditional patriarchal creeds.



Once a month, the women of Sister Spirit Sanctuary gather together in the spirit of sisterhood, we lend our energy to ritual that empowers us as women. The act of ritual keeps us present and aware of our purpose. We embrace our feminine values and know that they are good. We remember and reclaim our power as women and a spirituality that is uniquely our own.

As Women-born-women, we see ourselves and our life experiences and natural processes through our cycles of menarche, pregnancy, childbirth, menopause and death reflected in the rhythms of Nature. We reclaim these experiences that we share as sacred and honor them through celebration and ritual.

Although magick happens naturally, when women gather for the purpose of empowering our sweet souls, our monthly "Sister Circle" is not a circle focused on spell-casting and magickal practice. It is a spiritual, in many ways even political,woman-positive focused gathering in which the main objective is the empowerment of women through Goddess-centered spirituality and Women's Mysteries.

"Goddess-centered" (Women's Spirituality) does not refer to a replacement of the patriarchal Christian God, big daddy person in the sky God but rather, can be looked at as a metaphor for the spirit of Women, for "She Who is Complete in Herself", for Nature,for all of creation and for humanity.Women's Spirituality is non-hierarchical, unorganized and dogma-free.

We welcome all women with a joyous and open heart to join us April 25th from 4pm-6pm at:

1061 Cuyahoga St in Akron at the Cascade Valley Metro Park. We will be below the Hilltop Shelter in the open field area. When you come into the driveway, do not turn left to the shelter but continue straight. You will dead end right to where we will be.

Bring a pillow to sit on, a candle, and item that is personal and reflects who you are or what's important to you. Bring a light snack for sharing. Drinks will be provided. Feel free to bring your drums, rattles, guitars etc...and gather with your sisters and those who may become your sisters!
